AM- Finch & BBC micro:bit

During this two-week camp, you will use Finch Robots and BBC micro:bits to gain foundational coding skills with physical technology. Explore visual programming and use the BBC micro:bit, a tiny programmable computer, to make your own ideas come to life and control the Bird Brain Technology Finch Robot.

PM- Lego Mindstorms EV3 Robotics Camp

During this camp, students will learn the basics of robotics using the Lego Mindstorms EV3 kits. LEGO Robotics provides the ideal technology to teach science, computer programming, engineering, mathematics, and technology. Aside from developing critical thinking skills, robotics is an excellent activity for stimulating creativity and a curious mind. Students will use LEGO® Bricks to build models and bring them to life while learning teamwork and communication skills. Students will enjoy working both individually and in small groups to construct and program various robots that move and react in a controlled manner to various stimuli such as light, sound, and touch. The camp may also include an industrial robot demonstration at Palo Alto College. The camp concludes with an exciting, fun, and challenging sumo robot, or “Sumobot” team competition.
